Got an idea: what about including recent pastes into the sidebar? Like ‘Recent Posts’ and ‘Recent Comments’.

Yes, that is your gravatar. You can change it on gravatar.com. It will use a generated avatar for users who have no gravatar.

This mixed design is just temporarily. In the future I want all pages to have the same style and the same navigation.

Currently I am not really satisfied neither by the new navigation nor by the old one.

I liked your old design but it still lives in the top bar of the other sites :D
